Times are crazy, even for me

The other day I wrote an update with pictures and everything, and then it was lost. I will post some pics about some recent events later, for sure.

All I have to say, is that these last weeks and the once to come are and will be crazy. For some reason, I know a bunch of people who are doing horrible things. Here a list:

1. A guy I met a couple times in Santa Maria, decapitated a random 69 year old without any reason and is now arrested.

2. A guy have know here in Santa Barbara has been arrested for sexual insulting and raping soemone.

3. Someone I know stole 300.000 $ from someone else I know and got arrested for that today.

4. My soccer team lost against a team from the 4th league and its depressing!

5. Richard Auhll's party is coming up and that will be a lot of work.

Tonight I am apparently modeling for a sunglasses advertise shot someone needs to do for school. Very tight..... and I am excited to get my new watch, look for yourself:

I am moving back to Hannover, Germany early September and College starts October 1st. What the crap is going on??? I am glad, Jesus is still in control! I dont even want to know where I would be without him.
Peace out.

Random pictures and facts from Home you might enjoy.

Family picture. We haven't done one in a while.
This was during our trip to Münster for a day for some vacation and my
Dad's 53rd Birthday. It was quiet relaxing and good.

This is in Münster, it was quiet beautiful. This is typical european stile, won't ever find something like this in CA!
More of Münster, it was just cool there. It's a mostly college town and a very wealthy one.

Below is the House, my family lives in. It used to be a saddlery way back in the day. My Aunt lives in the front part of the house with my uncle, and my family lives in the back with my dad's sister. Seriously its sooooo amazing here. And it's in the middle of Town. 15 min by Bike and you are right Downtown!

I inherited a bunch of old coins from my grandpa. Recently a friend of mine reminded me of those and I dug em out, the coin above is actually an Austrian Coin from around 1856. I couldn't find any price for how much they go, but I saw that another coin of this one is at a Museum in Vienna, must be pretty valuable then. Below are a whole bunch of coins from Germany and around. I even have a dime from 1875!

My friend Conor Berry. He is currently teaching two classes at the Bible College in Siegen. He was there my 3rd and 4th Semester and then I lived with him in Santa Maria, CA for 3 month. At the Bible College, he is also teaching some box lessons. No, he is not loosing, he did actually really good.

My dad has a guy, who is coming to his work, who saved up a bunch of money. It's the old money we used to have, the Deutsche Mark. He got 2000 DM that is about 1 350 US Dollar. Its so cool to see the money, since I grew up with it and we switched in 2001.

You know I am german, when you know how much I like beer. No, I do not drink too much of it, but I enjoy beer. Yes, you can enjoy beer. These are probably my 2 favorite kinds. The one on the right is the Paulaner Hefeweizen Naturtrüb and the one on the left is the Beck's Gold. They just taste awesome. Highly recommend them.

This is my youngest sister Katharina, and she is pretending to have our cat Norma jean on her head. They named the cat Norma Jean, in honor of me, she is a pretty lazy cat, yet she got some birds and mice before.

The best Sport EVER!

Hannover 96 vs. Werder Bremen

Second's before the game started

I had a chance to go to the game Hannover 96 vs. Werder Bremen in Bremen yesterday. Everyone should know by now, that Hannover 96 is my team and it is hard to live far away and never go to any games at all. One things I need to get, if I ever move home again, is a season ticket. That would be very high in my list for things to get. Unfortunately we are on a loosing streak on away games, and Bremen has a pretty descend Team. My hopes weren't pretty high, yet I was excited to see Hannover.
My friend Matthias and I drove up to Bremen in his Mazda convertible (the weather has been pretty good over here, since I arrived). It was a fun drive just catching up and talking about Soccer, what else?
He has been a Hannover supporter for a while and it's always good to go with friends who are as enthusiastic as you are. I love the game and I love going to games. There is nothing that is comparable in the US, hm, maybe a Worship Concert with David Crowder, Phil Wickham, Chris Tomlin and a choir of Angels. Is this blasphemy?

Anyways, the ride went good, yet I was up sad to see so many car's with Hannover license plates with Werder Bremen stickers or fan accessories on and in their cars. Betrayers!

We made it to the stadium rather fast, so that we had about 1 1/2 hrs to waste, which went by really fast. The guest block, which we were sitting in was separated by a fence and a thick plastic wall. We sat rather close to the wall, so that we were a little nervous becoming victims of a beer shower. Yet we were rather glad to see, that a bunch of kids were sitting on the other side of the fence.

The fan block with all the Hardcore fans (Hooligans) was pretty packed and crazy. Before the game even started (see the picture above, the field is empty) they lit fireworks from out of their block towards the field. A bunch of smoke, Police game immediately and started videotaping the block with all the fans.
The game was pretty nerve wrecking. Bremen scored a lucky goal in the 41st minute up to where we played pretty descend in the defense. Not a lot of highlights in the first half.
In the 2nd half, it got a lot better. More chances for us, some chances for Bremen. Then we caused a Penalty Kick, which our goalie Robert Enke saved. In the video on the bottom, you hear and see our reaction to that by singing, the number 1 of all the goalies is ours. I got to say for all to understand that, our National team of Germany is trying out for new goalies to have one for the World Cup. So far ours, Robert Enke is the best and is the Nr.1 goalie for the national team. Tim Wiese, the goalie for Werder Bremen is Nr.2 even though he only is Nr.2 because of another goalie's injury. He would be Nr.3. And by saving the PK, Enke showed forth his class of a World Class Keeper.
So the video is the reaction after Enke saved the PK and we all sing, "the number one, the number one, the number one goalie is ours."
video

The saved PK gave us a little push and we were able to tie the game to a 1:1 until we gave the game out of our hands and lost 4:1. It was depressing, yet I will stand with my soccer team in the bad times as well. Saturday we will be playing vs. Berlin, I hope I get to go.

Germany has been amazing so far. I love being home, hanging with the family and catching up with old friends. I rarely feel that I have been gone for so long. I am convinced the Lord is already speaking to me here.
I am currently studying for the preaching and teaching class that I am teaching at the Bible College in Siegen on Wednesday Morning. I will be filling in for David Guzik and I am excited about the opportunity I have. Looking forward to see some friends there too.
Hope all is well with you all too. New update sooner than later!

The Great Commission

"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptize them in the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you."
Matthew 28:19+20a

I have no doubt, that this is one of the most important mission, Jesus called us to. We should take it to hard, have it as the core mission of our ministry and try to seek every possibility to fulfill this Commission.
As I have been thinking lately about what I am doing here, I feel like, God has really blessed me, since I am able to do just exactly that, to what He has called us in Matthew 28.

Making disciples: Not only do I have the great privilege of disciple 2 of my friends at least once a week, I am also got put in charge for our College Ministry to be over the Ministry aspect of the work. My 4 areas are: Discipleship, Ministry training, Care Ministry and Community Groups. As of right now, I am trying to put together a concept for discipleship. I have been trying to pull sources together and come up with different term concepts for this. Since we are dealing with College Ministry, a lot of attendees come and go rather quickly, so it is important for us, to use the time wisely. It' has been so exciting for me, to be involved in this and get ministries like these started. I am also co-leading with my friend Per a Men's Community Group, basically a Bible Study. Again, I am thrilled with where the Lord has me in this aspect of his great commission.

Baptizing the disciples: It's crazy. Just 2 weeks ago, I had the honor and privilege of not only baptize one of the guy's I disciple, who is also such a good friend, but also 5 other friends of mine.

My Buddy Richie, I am so stoked he did it.
Chad, one of the guy's I disciple and a awesome friend and brother!!
My good, good, good probably best friend Per. What privilege!

This is Mollie, she was so excited, it was awesome.
My friend Krista
My buddy Brandon, he decided on the beach to get baptized.

I really have to say, this was one of the most glorious day's in my days of doing ministry. I can totally see, how God is rejoicing in this, since David and I were just so filled with joy about this as well.

Teaching them to observe: Not only do I have the chance to disciple some guys, I also co-lead a community group and I get to teach an various places in Santa Barbara and santa Maria. I love teaching the word, I love everything about it, I love the word of God. it's just so amazing. My last study I did was at our college group, Paradox and I continued in what our college pastor was previously teaching on. Mark 8: 22-27 Jeasus heals a blind man and Peter confesses Jesus as the Christ.
As I read 22-26 I was left helpless. I remember asking God, how in the world to interpret this passage, but as we all know, Jesus is faithful and so He helped me getting, I feel, a decent message together. I think, I am going to post my notes soon. It was powerful as it always is powerful to teach the Word of God.

2 days ago I met with a friend for lunch and we asked each other how life is and stuff. We came to the conclusion, that even though it might not be super eventful, we are content with with where we are at right now. I must say, after reviewing my life and writing this down, I am content with where I am at, because God placed me here for a reason and I want to use this time as much to fulfill the great commission as possible.
Even though, I do not really know, where God's path is leading me to, I know that it will be God and I will be content with where I am at.
I am leaving for Hannover in 8 days..... sooo excited!

little update

Today is chill day. I have been hanging out with some friends all day. After waking up early, to keep track on the Hannover 96 game (4:4 against Dortmund at home) we went and tried out our new soccer cleats and played soccer from 10 to 12, then food at the Habit.
Tonight, I will be going to see Pigeon John, should be fun. My friend Zakk is coming with me. I hope it won't go too long, tomorrow is another sunday, that means, getting up early to set up church.
On another Note, I am coming to Germany! I will be arriving in Hannover March 29th and am leaving early in the morning April 15th. April 7th and 8th, I will be visiting the Calvary Chapel Bible College Siegen and some good friends there and also teaching David Guzik's Preaching and Teaching Class. I am looking forward to go home, haven't seen sweet sweet home since June!
Deutschland, Ich komme. Nur noch 2 Wochen!
